Why Dwarf Racing Forged Products

Simply because we know what race car drivers want and need. Specifically, to automotive wheels, using counterfeit and inferior quality material is DANGEROUS. Think of your FAMILY and YOUR life, wheels and tires are extremely important in any land moving objects. Forging provides MUCH better mechanical properties, ductility, fatigue and impact resistance because this process refines and directs the grain flow according to the shape of the piece. Almost all metals—ferrous and non-ferrous— can be forged. Any kind of steel can be used: carbon, alloy, stainless steel, steel, etc.

In simple layman terms, it is “compressed” metal to a point where it is compacted.

This explains why the entire aircraft structure is “designed and crafted around” forgings. Any commercial aircraft easily clocks hundreds of flying hours in a year. The exterior structure is constantly exposed to rain, snow, sun (UV) and extreme bad weather (acid rain). While the interior structure takes a beating through constant stress fatigues especially during take offs and landing.

Basically, any metals on this earth or rather this planet can be forged.


At Dwarf Racing, our individual wheels are all 1-piece forged Monoblock 6061-t6; which means to say every single wheel is crafted out using the state-of-the-art CNC Multiple-Axis cutting machine from “a block of metal”.

Why do we use 6061-T6 aluminum grade? 6061 is the most common and generally the minimal standards for Aerospace. 6061 is basically a code name for a particular group of aluminum alloy metal, to be specific, there are 3 main types in this group, 6061, 6061-T4 and 6061-T6.   

To avoid boring you with the details, in short; 6061 is solution heat treated, then aged. T4 is naturally aged and T6 is artificially aged for maximum strength and corrosion resistivity.
